Bayer HealthCare Announces Launch of the Kid-K Kit
04 Feb 2009

Bayer HealthCare is pleased to announce the launch of the Kid-K kit in the U.K, an exciting new initiative aimed at 6 - 10 year old boys with haemophilia A.

The kit has been developed to make infusing less daunting for children and help address issues such as needle phobias and using veins they have not used before.

The centerpiece of the kit is BayCuff, a novel device which is worn on the hand or arm and lets patients practice the technique of self-injection without actually infusing themselves.

The kit also contains educational materials featuring the character Kid K who teaches them to infuse. These materials have been specially designed to provide caregivers with information that can be easily adapted based on the childs level of understanding and can teach them in a manner that is both safe and secure.

Please ask in your haemophilia centre for more details.
